For ME, something BASSIKE, that would be EP-IC!!!

Deb Sams and Mary Lou Ryan, two friends with an impressive history in Australian fashion, started Bassike together in 2006 with the aim of filling a specific gap in the market. They recognised the need for adaptable and covetable everyday pieces with a design pedigree that allow them to work in a structured wardrobe just as well as with a pair of flip-flops. The Bassike brand philosophy is all about creating wardrobe staples with longevity, combining timeless style and quality, sustainable fabrics.

Building their brand on their wildly successful original range of organic cotton t-shirts; they soon expanded their focus onto denim, creating a range of handcrafted jeans from premium Japanese fabric with an emphasis on engineering.

“It’s all about what goes on behind every piece. For our t-shirts we buy organic yarn, design the fabric which is knitted in Australia, manufactured locally and then pre-washed and shrunk so what the customer buys remains the same even if they wash and wear every day” explains Sams.

The beauty of Bassike is its appeal to men and women whose easy-going style still requires an element of subtle luxury. Bassike’s very specific aesthetic is influenced by the contrasts of loose Australian beach style and the integrity and simplicity of Japanese design.

Today, Bassike has expanded from their ready-to-wear line to include sharply tailored pieces in luxe leather, denim and wool.
