Camilla & Marc AW12 'Paperback Lovers'

camilla and marc's new collection, Paperback Lovers, takes inspiration from women of style in the 60s & 70s. Ali McGraw, Bianca Jagger, Charlotte Rampling and Faye Dunaway, all women possessed with a sense of strength & confidence and impeccable, yet ultimately very personal, style.

The collection strikes a tone of retro modernism, bringing together contrasting elements to allow for individual expression - sharp razor cut linen tailoring in dusky pink is contrasted against soft flowing mosaic print palazzo pants. Structured satin evening dresses sit alongside suiting in an overblown botanical print and knitwear in strong jewel tones.

Knit dresses employ geometric lines in unusual colourways - cobalt combined with bubble-gum pink and sea green. The sequence shift dress in merlot, cream and black is reminiscent of a sixties silhouette, updated with a micro pleat layer. The classic tuxedo is revisited in linen and softened with silk panels. A simple leather envelope clutch in black or khaki completes each look; large enough for essentials, small enough to keep the overall feel clean and concise.

Each winter camilla and marc reviews the winter coat to create a highly covetable style designed to be worn all season long. This season the offer includes the us and them frock coat with subtle military styling and the pressue drop collarless wrap coat. Worn with the checked ace of spades tee and classic joplin jean the look is relaxed yet polished.

Autumn Winter 2012, camilla and marc presents a charming mix of updated classics and new favourites, creating an instantly covetable collection that allows a personal interpretation of what it menas to wear camilla and marc.
