Tuesday morning started in typical "fashion week fashion", excuse the pun, with our team franticly trying to get our butts to Alexandria by 9am for the first show of the day. Little Helena joined us today and we were super excited to have her with us, she was definitely the stand out style icon in her Mama & Papa outfit with matching fur clogs and sparkly socks. We made it on time to the amazing location which tripled as a restaurant, homewares shop and fashion runway. The collection was romantic and whimsical with pastels and prints and plenty of laser cutting. The swimwear was particularly cute and frilly with plenty of cut outs and off the shoulder designs - we look forward to examining the collection closely in our showing. Fashion bloggers lined the front row, again I spotted Style Me Romy & Tuula among the crowd. We were lucky enough to meet Jess Stein from Tuula after the show and grab a quick snap of her outfit - take note of the to die for Isabel Marant jeans.

Nicole & Helena on to the next show

Time to zoom our way to MBFWA headquarters at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, find a sneaky park at The Rocks and try not to trip in our heels on the cobble stone paths. We arrived with enough time for a refreshing drink on the balcony and the sunshine made for a beautiful 10 minutes of relaxation and a quick team snap. We entered "the box" where Flowers for a Vagabond (by the talented Toby Maclean - take note of the last name ;) ) was being shown in a dark, misty intimate setting. The collection was very impressive, be sure to keep an eye out for some pieces next season. We loved the cut out leggings and pops of pink.

Last show for the day was Michael Lo Sordo and my gosh wasn't it a stand out. Definitely my favourite so far (with Manning Cartell coming a close second place). Prints on silk and beautiful structured pieces were the inspiration. Very Dion Lee / Josh Goot but still with Michael's personal flare extremely evident.
The show was packed with celebs - Ruby Rose, Fashion Toast's Rumi Neely, Harper & Harley's Sarah, Kirstie Clements, Candice Lake.. I could go on forever. The collection was shown in The Apollo, such a beautiful location and the decore of the restaurant really added to the intimate show. We loved the sheer white dresses, bold prints on structured Blazers, sneaky bold crop tops and sharp shapes.

Michael's Finale

After the buzz of Michael's show we took our hungry tummies and sore feet to Fratelli Fresh for lunch.
What a beautiful way to end such a fun filled day. Day two down, bring on Wednesday!
